Optimum Energy Recognizes Columbia University’s Commitment to Energy Sustainability

SEATTLE, WA, December 1, 2015 — Optimum Energy congratulates Columbia University and Partner, Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI), for the successful completion of Columbia University’s Campus Energy Renewal Project. The program is featured on the cover of the Centennial edition of District Energy. According to the article, “The end result of the optimization project was an additional $634,000 annual energy cost savings above and beyond what was achieved with the equipment renewal. Today, utilizing the optimization sequencing, metering and real-time monitoring approach, Columbia University is able to closely measure and monitor the chiller plant’s energy usage and optimize cost….”

“Higher Educational Campuses across the nation are looking to increase their operational efficiency and reduce electricity costs,” said Bert Valdman, Optimum Energy’s President and CEO. “What makes Columbia University so significant is the amount of savings they have achieved and the resulting positive impact on the environment. Optimum Energy is committed to working with our partners, like JCI, to deliver innovative HVAC solutions that provide verifiable levels of savings for our customers.”

To date, the incorporation of Optimum Energy’s OptiCx Platform, a proprietary method of interdependently and relationally optimizing each HVAC sub-system as a coordinated whole, has provided Columbia University’s Renewal Project with measurable and verified energy consumption savings. Columbia University’s savings thus far confirm that Optimum Energy’s technology is delivering measurable results:
