Can you share your journey with Optimum Energy and how your role has evolved since you joined?
Since joining Optimum Energy, my role has grown significantly alongside the company’s. I’ve been establishing our construction division from the ground up, which has involved securing insurance, bonding, general contractor licensing, and engineering licensure. In addition to those responsibilities, I’ve served as the acting Safety Manager, representing the company in all matters of workplace safety and related training. More recently, my involvement has expanded to include project development on the front end of the business, where I support estimating, program management, and oversee multiple facets of construction operations.
What is your favorite part about working at Optimum Energy?
The shift in industry has been the most rewarding part for me. Coming from the oil and gas sector, I’m used to the complexity and intensity of industrial projects. But here, the nature of our work feels safer and more sustainable. Instead of handling volatile chemicals or fossil fuels, we’re working primarily with water and glycol. It’s refreshing to be in a field that demands the same level of technical precision but carries less risk.
Describe an accomplishment at Optimum Energy of which you are particularly proud.
One accomplishment I’m especially proud of is securing all the necessary licenses for Optimum Energy to legally operate across the United States. This was coordination across multiple jurisdictions and disciplines, and laid the groundwork for our growing project capabilities and ability to scale.
What is one thing you have learned while working here that has significantly impacted your approach to energy optimization?
I’ve learned that meaningful energy savings often come from small, incremental improvements within a system. You don’t always need a major overhaul. Thoughtful tweaks and optimization at various points in the system can compound to deliver significant results.
How do you see the future of energy optimization, and what role do you believe Optimum Energy will play in shaping it?
I see the future of energy optimization becoming more streamlined and customer-centric. At Optimum Energy, we’re actively reshaping our business model to align with that future. By shortening the sales cycle and positioning ourselves as a true one-stop shop, from design to execution, we’re making it easier for clients to implement energy-saving solutions. I believe this integrated approach will be a key differentiator and allow us to play a leading role in the next phase of the industry.
