| NEWS: OptiCx™ User Ethicon Wins Facility of the Year Award Winner for Sustainability
Optimum Energy congratulates Ethicon, LLC for winning this year’s ISPE (International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering) Facility of the Year award in the sustainability category. Ethicon, a subsidiary of J&J, earned the honor for its San Lorenzo Conservation Strategy project in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. The facility develops and manufactures products that are primarily used in cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, ophthalmic, and vascular procedures, as well as in plastic surgery.
Optimum Energy’s OptiCx™ HVAC optimization platform is a key sustainability element at the high-tech manufacturing facility. The site has reduced energy use by 26 percent (4.4 million kWh) and water use by 9 percent (1.25 million gallons) compared with 2010 consumption levels—while increasing production volume by 11 percent. The San Lorenzo achievements support J&J’s Healthy Future 2015 sustainability initiative. READ MORE
