Our Mission

Our Mission & Environmental Sustainability Principles

At Optimum Energy, we partner with our clients to support their sustainability goals while holding ourselves to the same standards. Our mission is to help organizations operate more efficiently by lowering emissions, reducing waste, and enabling measurable performance improvements.

These principles guide both our internal operations and the solutions we deliver, reflecting our commitment to a better tomorrow and providing a clear roadmap toward a more sustainable future.

1

Reduce Emissions

Internally

As a remote-first company, we have no direct Scope 1 emissions and work to reduce indirect emissions from business activities. We promote efficient operations, responsible travel, and technology-enabled collaboration. Greenhouse gas emissions are measured annually to inform improvement efforts.

For Clients

Through optimization technology, engineering expertise, and operational analytics, we enable clients to reduce energy consumption and associated Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Our solutions improve system performance while maintaining reliability in mission-critical environments.

2

Reduce Waste

Responsible Practices

We apply responsible waste management across our internal operations, including hardware recycling and lifecycle management, sustainable travel practices, and policies designed to reduce material and energy waste.

Through Optimization

We help clients reduce water and energy waste by identifying, measuring, and reducing inefficiencies in Building Automation System performance. Our technology and expertise enable more efficient use of energy and resources across client facilities.

3

Measure and Improve

Accountability

We prioritize accurate data and transparency in evaluating our sustainability performance. Greenhouse gas emissions are reviewed annually, and environmental performance goals are established to guide continuous improvement across the organization.

Transparency for Clients

Measurement is central to our approach. Our technology and engineering services provide clients with real-time data, analytics, and performance insights that support ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement.

Carbon Handprint

Achieving A Sustainable Future Together:
Our 2025 Carbon Handprint

A carbon handprint represents the positive climate impact created by enabling others to reduce their emissions. Buildings account for a significant share of global energy use and emissions, making operational efficiency a critical lever for meaningful climate action.

The data below presents a snapshot of our 2025 client plant efficiency performance, demonstrating how we continue to uphold our environmental sustainability mission by empowering clients to optimize energy use, lower operating costs, and reduce CO₂ emissions across their facilities. Through engineering expertise and operational analytics, we help translate efficiency into measurable sustainability and financial gains.

599.5 Million kWh
Energy savings achieved through optimized operations
$38.2 Million USD
Cost savings achieved through improved energy efficiency
646.7 Million lbs CO₂
Emissions reductions achieved through data-driven efficiency improvements
2.97 Billion Ton-Hours

Carbon Footprint

Our Commitment to Sustainability:
Our 2024 Carbon Footprint

A carbon footprint represents the greenhouse gas emissions associated with an organization’s operations and value chain. In 2024, our carbon footprint reflects continued progress in reducing energy use and improving efficiency across our own operations, even as our company grew.

These outcomes point to a consistent focus on energy-conscious decisions, efficient facilities, and responsible operational practices. Looking ahead, we will continue to build on this momentum by prioritizing energy efficiency and identifying new opportunities to reduce our footprint as our business evolves.

Performance Analysis

Our Performance Analysis & Highlights

In 2024, Optimum Energy operated without direct emissions from owned or controlled sources while maintaining highly efficient facilities. Even as the organization grew, emissions intensity did not increase—demonstrating that efficiency improvements and operational practices scaled alongside the business.

Emissions Distribution by Source — 2024
Purchased Goods & Services 55.0%
Employee Business Travel 34.0%
Electricity 3.4%
Downstream Product Transport 2.2%
Employee Commuting 2.0%
Use of Sold Products 1.5%
Fuel & Energy Activities 1.3%
Upstream Leased Assets 0.6%

Indirect emissions associated with purchased goods and services and employee business travel account for the largest portions of the footprint, reflecting the nature of our service-based business and the activities required to support customers.

Facility-related electricity consumption and other operational sources represent a comparatively smaller share, underscoring the impact of efficient facilities and disciplined energy management within our own operations.

Together, these outcomes reflect a disciplined approach to energy management. Even as the organization grew, emissions intensity did not increase, demonstrating that efficiency improvements scaled alongside the business.

Zero
Scope 1 emissions produced by internal business operations.
66%
Lower energy intensity at our Seattle headquarters compared to the industry average.
46%
Reduction in emissions per employee since 2023, even as our team and headquarters grew in 2024.
