On Oct. 26, Optimum Energy was named a winner of the Seattle Business 2016 Community Impact Award for green products and services. The award goes to the company with “the most comprehensive and innovative set of programs to conserve energy, reduce waste or otherwise help protect the environment.”
“It’s a proud moment for the company,” says CEO Bert Valdman, who accepted the award. “This award belongs to our great team—never bet against the engineers when it comes to driving transformational change in accelerating the transition to sustainable energy.”
More than 300 business leaders attended at the Museum of History and Industry gala to celebrate the honorees for their achievements in job creation, workforce development, volunteering, board service or innovative business models that promote social goals. Silver honorees in the green products and services category are Itek Energy and Rice Fergus Miller. Other top winners are Bellevue College/Year Up Puget Sound, FareStart, Kinzer Partners, McKinstry, Savers/Value Village, Skanska USA, Sleep Train, Theo Chocolate and Tree Top Inc. Harriet Bullitt was awarded the Lifetime Achievement winner for her support of the arts and environmental conservation in the Pacific Northwest.
